Vint Cerf, also known as the "father of the internet", was born on June 23, 1943. He is widely known for being the person responsible for developing the TCP/IP protocols of the internet. He attended the University of California, as well as Stanford, and has earned the National Medal of Technology for co-founding the internet.
Elizabeth Feinler, born March 2, 1931 (same birthday as me :) ), managed both the ARPANET and the DDN, both of which contributed heavily to the creation of the Internet. She is a graduate of Purdue University and worked on the research team at Stanford. She and her team of researchers are also known for making the "white pages", a digital version of the "yellow pages", which is a directory of people. Her team also contributed to creating DNS names, such as .com, .net, .goc, etc.
